Whats Happening
04FEXHOT – Fire Extinguisher Hands-on Training
This Course will provide trainees with a clear understanding of how to use a fire extinguisher. Trainees will receive basic fire extinguisher skills that will enhance their ability to perform assigned “Firewatch Duty”.
04FORKL – Forklift (Counterbalanced) Operator Certification
This course includes classroom instruction, CBT test, hands-on training and a performance evaluation.
04MEWP and 04MEWP2 – Aerial Lifts/MEWP’s
This course is designed to be general in nature and cover safe operating procedures for scissor and telescopic boom aerial lifts. The training will include classroom instruction, a computer based training module/test, hands-on training activities and performance verification. Students are required to successfully complete all phases to receive certification.
04FKLRT – Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Certification
This course includes classroom instruction, CBT test, hands-on training and a performance evaluation.
04MEWPR – Aerial Lift/MEWP Requalification Program
This course will refresh, update and evaluate trainee’s knowledge of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) including a hands-on performance evaluation.

About Us
The Brazosport Safety Council (BSC) is located approximately 50 miles south of Houston in Freeport, Texas. The council has been providing safety training for Brazoria County and the Petro Chemical Industry for over 40 years.
BSC is a member of the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) and offers training in Basic Orientation Plus and Basic Plus Refresher. The council also provides site specific training for area plants and other job related training as needed. BSC assists local owners and contractors in the development and presentation of their site specific training modules. Training modules are delivered through computer based programs and instructor-led course work.
BSC works in conjunction with the Associated Builders and Contractors, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. The council is supervised by the Operations Manager and President with oversight by the Board of Directors, a group consisting of managers from local contractor companies. This team is committed to providing contractors with quality safety training in an efficient and cost effective manner.
